Descripción de KVIE Channel 6 Sacramento sign-off from 1985:
This is the sign-off for Sacramento's public TV station- they usually went off the air around midnight. As you can see their signal was pretty weak, and the squiggly lines are a result of FM radio interference from KDVS 90.3 FM, broadcasting from UC Davis just a few blocks away. (As I'm sure you all know, FM radio frequencies are sandwiched between channels 6 and 7, and you could hear audio from any channel 6 at the low end of FM until the analog signals went off the air.) Announcer is Pat McConahay. Thanks to whoever ID'd the music track as "Tidal Wave" by Ronnie Laws, which they played almost every night- the slide shown was usually different, and occasionally they'd use a different instrumental track than this one. KVIE wasn't broadcasting in stereo yet when this was recorded, and disappointingly when they finally did upgrade to stereo a few years later, this sign-off was still in mono.
