Descripción de Built for the Stone Age - part one: Pleasure:
This is the first part of a 50-minute pilot I made for a television series about human evolution, trying to explain with comedy why people are so very strange. This has the general introduction at the start, and then the first sequence about why we feel pleasure, and why certain modern aspects of life give us no pleasure at all. The whole thing was shot in five and a half days, then edited in three days, and cost £850 to make. I made it to get the attention of television commissioners here in Britain, hoping that something like it would get made. Unfortunately, getting a commissioner to watch a video made by an unknown is like trying to burrow through a mountain with a soft plastic spoon, and after a few years of trying, I gave up. I do have it in writing, though, from some commissioners, that there is no such TV genre as this. My thinking was that comedy was the best way to get people to watch, understand, and remember the ideas I was trying to get across. I showed the full video to several of the top evolutionary psychologists in the world, and they loved it, but unfortunately, their praise counted for nothing with the TV people. www.LloydianAspects.co.uk
